It was almost four years ago that Digital Extremes announced it was working on Dark Sector, a third-person action game now available for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Better action games have come and gone since then, regardless of which console you own, but the good news is that those same games have left their mark on Dark Sector, which borrows liberally from Gears of War and is at times reminscent of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Dark Sector's story isn't nearly as interesting or told nearly as well as that of either of the aforementioned games, but if you step into the boots of elite black-ops agent Hayden Tenno solely for satisfying combat, then you won't be disappointed.

Civilization IV: Warlords
An all-new expansion pack, Warlords pays homage to some of history's greatest military leaders, delivering six new scenarios, giving players the chance to change the course of history with the help of their new powerful "warlord" unit. The expansion pack is loaded with new civilizations, new leaders and more units, resources and wonders that can be used in both single and multiplayer games.

Battle Realms: Winter of the Wolf
attle Realms is a fantasy real-time strategy game that is being co-published by Ubi Soft Entertainment and Crave Entertainment. Winter of the Wolf takes place before Battle Realms, adding onto the original’s storyline. It features new units, characters and locales that reveal the history and struggle of the Wolf Clan.

SWAT 4 is a tactical first-person shooter computer game developed by Irrational
Games and released by Vivendi Universal on April 5, 2005. It was built on Irrational
Games's Vengeance engine powered by Unreal Engine 2.0 technology. SWAT 4 puts the
player into the role of a SWAT team leader where he commands four other team members
to resolve various situations, such as hostage standoffs or apprehensions of dangerous
subjects. An expansion to SWAT 4, entitled SWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate, was
released on February 28, 2006.

For the fifth game in a series, Conflict: Denied Ops sure doesn't show any signs of evolution. This might actually be the simplest edition of the shooter franchise that developer Pivotal Games has produced, with gameplay so out of date that it might as well be wearing a plaid flannel shirt and listening to Alice in Chains. But even though the action is a good decade behind the times, the game's rapid-fire pace blurs the fact that you're shooting the same bad guys over and over again. Attractive visuals feature diverse terrain spread all over the globe. Co-operative play is another highlight, which earns the game some applause all by itself, given how this shooter feature is so often asked for and so rarely delivered. So even though nothing here is going to slow down traffic--let alone stop it--such a speedy mindless shooter like this is ideal for those moments when you want to switch off the synapses and play Rambo for a few hours.

Terminator 3 War of the Machines
The inevitable battle between man and machine has begun. War ravages the
land as hardened Tech-Com fighters defend John Connor and others against
the mechanized onslaught of the CRS force. This epic cinematic conflict,
recreated from the phenomenal Terminator films, places first-person
shooter fans at the very center of the uprising. Throughout high-powered
multiplayer and single-player missions, combatants fight in apocalyptic
landscapes — a decimated downtown Los Angeles, a battered ocean harbor,
devastated highways — struggling for survival. Only the strongest will
avert catastrophe and save human existence.

Shade Wrath Of Angels
Enter the world of Shade: Wrath of Angels where nothing is as it first
appears! Prepare to leave everything you thought you knew behind, as you
become enveloped in an ancient battle between good and evil, the outcome
of which rest heavily on your shoulders. With the help of your inner
demon, you will need to fight your way through the hoards of darkness
and solve various problems to ensure your victory. Keep your wits about
you and tread carefully, beware of the shadows for this is where evil
lies.

Worms 4: Mayhem is the third Worms game in two years, which is a lot of worms. But more importantly, it's hard to believe there's such a rampant demand for these games, considering they really never change or improve over time. Aside from the requisite transition to 3D, the Worms series hasn't changed much since it first appeared on the PC in 1995. Each new installment may tweak the weapon lineup ever so slightly, but these worms tend to stick to their guns. That's both a good and a bad thing for Worms 4: Mayhem. On one hand, you can expect to be chucking holy hand grenades, detonating old ladies, and calling in air strikes in the hopes of destroying the opposing team of little pink worms. On the other hand, if you've done all that before, there's really no reason to play this game, because it doesn't offer anything new and worthwhile.
