Sacred Underworld (PC) Sacred was one of the better action role-playing games to come down the pike in recent years. Released in March 2004, Sacred delivered solid, Diablo-inspired gameplay along with a few innovations thrown into the mix. Approximately 18 months later, we now have Sacred Underworld, the expansion to Sacred. As expected, Underworld delivers some high-level gameplay for Sacred fans as well as a few tweaks, though everything that we liked and didn't like about the original game remains pretty much the same.

THQ and Iron Lore embraced the violent side of Greek mythology with last year's Titan Quest, a hack-and-slash role-playing game that charged you, as an anonymous Greek hero, with the task of combating the treacherous elder gods who had escaped their Olympian prison. While it was rife with mythological creatures and locales, it took more than a few cues from Diablo, the mother of all hack-and-slash RPGs. There are far worse games you could choose to crib from, but despite the game's sharp presentation, there were certain aspects of Titan Quest that felt unnecessarily antiquated. Titan Quest: Immortal Throne is an expansion pack that features an all-new high-level campaign with plenty of fresh gear, and it's a no-brainer for fans of the original. It also addresses some of the more cumbersome aspects of the original Titan Quest, simultaneously making that game more appealing to newcomers.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance iSO PC Konami?s re-release of the popular Metal Gear Solid 2 title, on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC, expands gameplay with added options, and features. The largest addition to gameplay are the over 200 fun and challenging VR missions split between four specific modes? Sneaking mode, Weapon mode, First Person View mode, and Variety mode. In addition to VR missions, Alternative missions have also been included; allowing players to test their skills in Bomb Disposal mode, Photograph mode, Hold Up mode, and Elimination mode. Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is a simple action game based on the children's movie of the same title that was quietly released in the summer of 2003. Though the game features some competent gameplay mechanics and attractive graphics, the extremely short campaign mimics the film's brief theatrical run a little too well, as it's gone almost before it starts.
Scarface: The World is Yours iSO The Scarface video game creates a gameplay environment that authentically recreates the historical time period of the film, touching on politics, news items and events of the day. As Tony Montana (in an alternate-ending story concept that follows the events of the original movie classic), players will travel through the steamy, often violent streets of Miami, the irie islands of the Florida Keys, the Bahamas and various other locales and will interact with a world full of seedy and dangerous characters to procure information, negotiate business deals, smuggle contraband and avoid rivals and DEA on a mission to rebuild their fallen empire.
Diablo 2 : Lord of Destruction As Diablo II was wildly successful, Blizzard chose to make an expansion that will add a fifth Act, featuring six quests in the Barbarian Highlands. Two unique classes, the female Assassin and the male Druid, will be available featuring new skills. More monsters, items including powerful sets and class-specific items, new Horadric Cube recipes, and interactive environments will all expand the the scope of Diablo.
Pirates of the Burning Sea iSO The age of sail is a popular story setting, thanks to its romantic aspects. It's an era when ships moved about by the power of the wind, rather than loud, ugly machinery, and heroes swashbuckled their way around using skill and charm. Or, at least, that's how popular culture likes to remember it. Still, there's something to be said for a pirate-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game when so many of its competitors veer toward the familiar fantasy route. That brings us to Pirates of the Burning Sea, a game that's been in development for a number of years now. But with the launch finally in sight next month, preparations are coming to a frenzied head, and developer Flying Lab Software has been busy conducting beta tests. We dived into the test recently ourselves, with some of the developers tagging along to show off some of the game's cool features, like naval combat. Burning Sea is a bit like a massively multiplayer online role-player version of single-player games like Sid Meier's Pirates! and Port Royale. Many of the concepts in Burning Sea make it similar to those games, only expanded to allow for hundreds or even thousands of players to inhabit the same virtual world at the same time. You create a character and explore port towns and their various structures, like taverns, for missions. Then, you can embark on the open sea in a ship that you can customize with various upgrades. As you ply the waters of the Caribbean, you can sail from town to town or engage in naval battles, and you can sword-fight on land or on the decks of a ship.
